2015 Early Baseball Standinds.

Posted by

The baseball standings look a little different than they did at the end of last year’s Season.

Boston Heads the AL East. Last year they finished last in their division. 25 games behind division leaders, the Orioles. The optimism at Fenway Park is based around an improved line up, the depth of that line up and the way they finished 2014.

Kansas City is the only unbeaten team and stands atop the AL Central. Not far behind the Tigers last year the Royals have a lot of faith in their trio of Mike Trout, Kendrys Morales and Mike Moustakas.

Oakland’s record is 5&4 but it is still good enough to head the AL West. 10 Games behind the Dodgers at the end of last year. Billy Beane and Bob Melvin continue to tweak a team with a low payroll any maybe they finally have the answer

Atlanta leads the NL East with a 6&2 record. The Washington Nationals led their division last year. The Braves overhauled their roster during the offseason All the old guard are gone, and their young talented team are performing well.

Cincinnati leads the NL Central at 5&3 which is a mild surprise as the Cardinals led the division by a slim margin last year. Their proven talent, a good starting rotation and if they can keep the team healthy they should enjoy a banner year.

Colorado is also 6&2 and heads the NL west. This year their prospects need to lose that label and become players. Their Division is very competitive and they need to avoid the injury train as well as having their pitchers rise to the level they are capable of.

It is early the season is 162 games and we have played 7. The fun is still to come. The All-Star break is generally a good indication as to how a season will play out. The All-Star game will be on us before we know it. Time flies when you are having fun.
