Albert Pujols Los Angeles Angels Photo Framed

Albert Pujols has joined an elite club. Tuesday he became the 26th member of baseball’s 500 Home run club. Against the Washington Nationals he hit home run numbers 499 and 500 during the game the Padres won 7-2. Pujols is the third youngest to reach this milestone with only Alex Rodriguez and Jimmie Foxx doing so at a younger age. It appears he has left the misery of last season behind when he was on the disabled list with a knee injury. The last year at St Louis he batted 299 avg. His Average for the Padres is climbing towards that mark again with the last three seasons being .285, .258, and currently 284. Now that he has reached the 500 Home Run mark he may relax a little and become more comfortable at the plate. This should translate into even more home runs and a batting average that may approach .300 once again. Visit Signature Royale for  Albert Pujols sports memorabilia.
