Marcus Mariota Wins the Heisman Trophy.

Posted by

If ever there was a humble football player it is this year’s Heisman Trophy winner, Marcus Mariota. He received the second highest points in Heisman voting history. A Hawaiian, he led the Oregon Ducks personally accounting for fifty three touchdowns, and successfully directed one of the fastest operating offenses in College football. It was a good week for Marcus Mariota. First the Maxwell Award, for the Best footballer in the USA, was handed to him followed by the Walter Camp Award, awarded to the best player of the year. Marcus Mariota was also the recipient of the Davey O’Brien Award given to the best Quarterback in the nation. Still undecided as to whether he will turn professional he has indicated he will wait until the end of the Ducks season. Hopefully it will be two games as he must direct the Ducks offense against the Defense of Florida State in the new NCAA playoff system. Marcus Mariota, when he does turn pro will have to fight the Heisman “Jinx” for Quarterbacks. The last eight Quarterbacks have not exactly fulfilled the promise they showed in College. Being humble, may take him a long way whatever he decides to do.
