Bruce Lee may have been a American martial artist who was born in Hong Kong, but he is revered world wide as the most influential martial artist of all time. Few, will disagree. His martial arts movies created a surge of interest in Chinese Martial arts during the 1970’s. His five movies, “The Big Boss”; “Fist of Fury”; “Way of the Dragon”; “Enter the Dragon”; and “The Game of Death” all helped further popularize his “Jeet Kune Do” methods. His unfortunate, and untimely, death at the age of 32, cemented his legendary status. Shown here is an authentic Bruce Lee signature and his actual illustrations added to the 1960 book “Karate, The art of Empty Hand Fighting” written by noted, and respected martial arts instructor, Hidetaka Nishiyama & Richard Brown. The red pen illustrations, hand sketched by Lee, illustrate how he would prefer the hand positions to be, and the direction of the strike, so as to be most effective. A letter of Authenticity from Taky Kimura accompanies this piece. Taku Kimura was an instructor; personally certified by Bruce Lee, best man at Bruce Lee’s wedding; and a pallbearer during Bruce Lee’s funeral. Kimura also appeared in eight Bruce Lee documentaries. The Center piece of this collage is an open edition Giclee sketch of Bruce Lee by the Artist “Star”. Not only is it signed in the print by “Star”, he has signed it in person in the lower left corner in silver pen. Bruce Lee has signed on the books title page, as well as the notation in his hand “Property of” above his signature and his name in Chinese characters below.
